Update time...
Annie - there isn't much to say about this little firecracker. She is rock solid in her growth and development. She was the first to reach her birth weight a few days ago and as of yesterday weighs in at 3 pounds (1365gm)! Out of the 2's. Yipee!!! She continues to tolerate her feeds and has very few to no spells. Go Annie!!! She is finally off the the bili light and we have had fun seeing her in cute, little, "girly" outfits.
Eli - 4 days ago he was the furthest from reaching his birth weight. Since then he has blown right past it! He is now 3 pounds 11 ounces (1665gm). He has perked up a bit over the past several days and is spending more time with his eyes wide open, looking all around. Despite this new level of alertness, he remains very calm and quiet and sweet.
Michael - our dear, sweet Michael. He seems to struggle where his older brother and sister are thriving. He finally has reached his birth weight and weighs in at 3 pounds 7 ounces (1575gm). He is struggling with reflux and continues with frequent spells. Now we have learned that his 10 day head ultrasound showed a small left ventricle germinal matrix hemorrhage - in other words, a tiny blood vessel in his brain has ruptured, sometime since his last ultrasound on day 3 of life. This was obviously very hard news to hear and we have been left wondering how this will affect him. The doctors have reassured us that his bleed is mild and his prognosis is good but as his parents our minds still wander to places of guilt and anxiety and pain. Unfortunately only time will tell what his outcome will be. Until then all we can do is love him and pray and we ask that you do the same. On a happier note, as of today our trio is ready for transfer. On Monday they will join us in the Merrimack Valley at a hospital only 5 miles away! One step closer to coming home!!!
Thinking of you all, Deana! Congrats on the move closer to home on Monday--what a welcome change.
