In the blink of an eye - 6 month update

Six months have come and gone.  I can't believe it.  SIX MONTHS!  Where has the time gone?!?!  Halfway to being the mom of three one year olds!!!

Several feelings emerge.  Sadness, relief, fear, excitement.  Sad to be leaving such a precious stage behind.  Relieved to be leaving such an intense stage behind.  Afraid of what is yet to come.  Excited about what is yet to come.

The bullet point format seemed to work well for me in my last update so here we go...

Annie
  • 13 pounds 1 ounce
  • 24 and 3/4 inches long
  • becoming very playful during bottle time
  • drooling and drooling and drooling
  • has signs of a tooth emerging on her bottom gums
  • had her first episode of conjunctivitis
  • has started rubbing her eyes when she is tired - very cute!
  • no longer needs to sleep on a slanted mattress due to reflux
  • starting to reach for and grab toys
  • very playful and enjoys carrying on enthusiastic "conversations"
  • loves to squeal - especially first thing in the morning
Eli
  • 16 pounds 13 ounces
  • 25 and 1/4 inches long
  • his world seems to revolve around chewing...on ANYTHING
  • prefers to sit up straight when he takes his bottle
  • continues to be mommy's biggest fan - he can't get enough (mommy loves it!)
  • becoming very bashful in his play and interactions
  • will push himself up to a standing position with only a little help with balance
  • laughs out loud
  • smiles and smiles and smiles and smiles and smiles...
  • got his first taste of sweet potato today - it was a hit!
  • no longer needs to sleep on a slanted mattress
Mikie
  • 16 pounds 11 ounces
  • 25 inches long
  • loves to stand - his record is almost 3 minutes of standing with only a little help with balance
  • sings himself to sleep - really!
  • army crawled about 1 foot
  • no longer needs to sleep on a slanted mattress
  • LOVES to eat!
  • so far has been introduced to sweet potato and banana and loves them both - especially in popsicle form
  • takes wonderfully long afternoon naps
  • finally seems to have conquered the colic - HALLELUJAH!!!
  • we are sure his jaw will someday become dislocated due to the hugeness of his smile

And now the photos...

Annie thinks being 6 months old is great!

This picture makes me reconsider feeding them solids...ever...I'm going to need a garden hose and a bigger washing machine!

Nothing better then frozen sweet potato on a hot day!
