Several weeks ago Poppy (Deana's dad) and Bobby fenced in a portion of our yard. Yesterday (with 'Auntie' Stacey on babysitting duty) we clipped, raked, swept, cleaned and baby-proofed our new little play yard.
So today after lunch we piled the kids in the van and headed to the stores. That's right, I said stores. More than one. Thanks to our awesome stroller we were able to go, as a family, into stores and buy things - a water table, a slide and a swing actually. We didn't move very fast. Traveling with 3 toddlers attracts as much of a crowd as traveling with 3 babies. But we accomplished what we set out to do, the kids had a blast, and I felt like a mommy. We felt like a family.
By the time we got home the kidlets were ready for their naps. We put them down and then scurried around assembling everything. We couldn't wait for them to wake up and went racing up the stairs to get them as soon as they did!!! It felt exactly like we imagine Christmas will feel like as they get older. They did not disappoint. Their reactions were priceless and we enjoyed the evening playing outside together. Like a 'real' family.
