5 month update

It absolutely blows my mind that our trio is 5 months old!  Those first days in the NICU seem like a distant dream (or nightmare?) and I can't believe how far we ALL have come!

So many things have changed in the last several weeks.  The kidos are growing and discovering new things each and every day.  While I generally don't think or write in bullet points, it seems appropriate (and fast) to do it in this entry.  So here is what the munchkins are up to...

Annie
  • 11 pounds 12 ounces - 4% on the growth chart
  • 24 inches long
  • rolling over stomach to back and back to stomach
  • sleeping through the night
  • finally out of newborn clothes and into 0-3 month sizes!
  • tried rice cereal with a spoon and HATED it
  • likes to stand up the the bath tub
  • loves to listen to mommy read books - will stay focused for up to 30 minutes!!!
  • giggles, smiles and coos
  • always ready with a BIG smile
  • starting to drool a lot - maybe some teeth on the way?!?!

Eli
  • 15 pounds 2 ounces - 35% on the growth chart
  • 24 and 1/2 inches long
  • sleeping through the night
  • tried rice cereal with a spoon and wasn't too impressed
  • has gone a record 14 hours overnight between bottles
  • loves his hands, loves to look at his hands, loves to play with his hands, loves to chew on his hands
  • starting to grab at toys and find amusement in them
  • smiles and smiles and smiles
  • is learning that he can make LOUD vocalizations, not just quite ones
  • starting to grow some hair back and it is still RED

Mikie
  • 15 pounds 9 ounces - 50% on the growth chart
  • 24 inches long
  • graduated from the high calorie formula to a standard formula (so much cheaper)
  • sleeping through the night (yes, that makes all 3)
  • likes to touch and "hold" his bottle
  • can really drag out a feeding with all of the playing he does with the bottle and nipple
  • tried rice cereal with a spoon and loves it - he prefers it over the bottle!
  • enjoys playing peak-a-boo
  • has the biggest smile we've ever seen
  • loves to stand and only needs a little help with balance
  • will talk to anything that catches his eye
  • absolutely LOVES to be outside and starts getting excited as soon as we put his sunglasses on

Some closing photos...

Annie enjoys the view during her bath

Mikie LOVES his sunglasses

Annie does NOT

Looking good Eli!

Can't remember if I posted this one in an
earlier post...but I love it!

  1. WOW! The trio has changed SO much. They look like they are all thriving. I was delighted to read that they are all sleeping through the night. When are you planning to return to Haverhill? Love, Diana
