Sweeter than candy

Since the trio's birth there is one stat that has been routinely and closely followed - weight.  They have gone from being weighed twice-a-day in the NICU, to once-a-day in the special care nursery, to once-a-week by the visiting nurse.  When I would call the hospital in the middle of the night their weights were often the first things the nurses would report to me (after reassuring me that everyone was doing fine, of course).

Since their 3 month physical exam the day before we left to come to Goshen kids have not been on a scale.  Given that they all continue to out grow clothes with lightning speed my need to know their current weight was based more in curiosity then worry.  While I could have done the "weigh myself alone then weigh myself holding a baby" routine, my dad had a different idea (shocking).  He brought home a large candy scale from one of his Dairy Queens.  Using a cutting board as a platform, we weighed the babies this morning before their baths.  Here are the results followed by a few photos of the event.

Annie - 9 pounds 14 ounces
Elias - 13 pounds 4 ounces
Michael - 13 pounds 1 ounce
